Meet the Team
Matthew completed his post-graduate legal training at the Chester College of Law in the Summer of 2001. Later that year, he started a two-year training contract in a Leeds based law firm where he gained expertise in Property, Conveyancing, Employment Law, Family Law and Wills and Probate. For the next 3 and half years, in addition to managing his Conveyancing and Family cases, Matthew presented a series of cases in the Employment Tribunals of the region with a great deal of success.
In February 2007, Matthew established McIllmurrays Solicitors with a view to creating a firm that supported his ideals. In the midst of this challenging economic climate, he remains determined that there is a market for the delivery of a first class personal service whilst maintaining unbeatable value. CM Law launched on 1 January 2012, and is a Partnership formed by long-term colleagues Matthew McIllmurray and Lisa Conway.
In 2012, Matthew opened the St Alban’s office and enjoys living and working in the City.
Lisa established the firm, alongside Matthew, in January 2012. After obtaining her Law Degree at the University of Huddersfield, Lisa qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 at a local law firm in Rodley, Leeds, before gaining further experience at a central Leeds firm.
Lisa has extensive experience in dealing with all aspects of family law, as well as employment law, probate and lasting powers of attorney. As well as practising as a Solicitor, Lisa has also in the past been an active Director managing a successful nationwide mechanical maintenance and repair business.
Outside of work, Lisa has her hands full caring for her four boys. She enjoys nothing more than spending her evenings and weekends with them, whether it be taking them to various local sports clubs or activities, or going on family days out.
Luke joined the firm in September 2012 as a Conveyancing Executive. Having completed the Graduate Diploma in Law, Luke is currently studying a Masters Degree in Legal Practice as well as the Legal Practice Course in his own time outside of work.
Luke has worked in the legal profession for over 9 years, and has extensive experience in residential conveyancing dealing with: house sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers, leases and all aspects of land law. He also has experience in divorce and child contact, probate, lasting powers of attorney and will writing.
In addition to the work he does for his clients, Luke has worked closely with Lisa over the last 3 years on the development and management of the business, with the aim of taking a role as Partner in the near future.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys running, going to the gym, attending Leeds United home games as a season ticket holder and spending time with his family. Luke and his wife Amanda recently became first time parents when their son, Noah, was born in December 2016.
